Not only is Alan Jackson a Living Legend, he’s also our Live Act of the Year! The Boot’s readers have voted Jackson the winner of that category in the 2015 Golden Boot Awards.
With a whopping 75.95 percent of votes in the category, Jackson beat out Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert and more to win Live Act of the Year. His Keepin’ It Country Tour, which celebrated his 25th anniversary in country music, began in January and ended in May.
“I have fans who have been coming to my shows for 25 years, I meet them, and they’ll pull out a picture they took of me 25 years ago!” Jackson says. “This [tour was] a way to make it new — put together something special that pulls together those 25 years. Some people don’t like to talk about how many years they’ve been around — it makes them feel old. I’m proud of it and glad to do it.”
One show even included a very special moment with one very lucky fan: A woman who has attended more than 20 of Jackson’s concerts — and has a tattoo of his likeness! — was invited on stage to dance with Jackson during part of his song “Remember When,” while his band played. Talk about making your fans feel special!
