Alan Jackson is a cool guy. He’s old-school cowboy-hat country. The 57-year-old doesn’t jump around, get all crazy and put on a flashy show because he doesn’t need to. For over 25 years, Jackson has built a solid career on just presenting songs that, as he put it Saturday night at Honda Center, are “about my life, love, heartache, drinking and having a good time and all that stuff.”
His current jaunt, dubbed the Keepin’ It Country tour, kicked off Jan. 8, 2015, and was designed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his debut release, “Here in the Real World,” and all of his chart-topping success since. The hit-filled retrospective has gone so well that his camp extended the tour, which originally came to Southern California on Feb. 27 last year at Microsoft Theater (formerly Nokia Theatre L.A. Live) in downtown Los Angeles. That evening was extra special as it just so happened to land on the actual release date of that very first album in 1990.
