ALAN JACKSON CONCERTS IN SUMMERSIDE, PEI AND SYDNEY, NS RESCHEDULED

May 6 – Credit Union Place, Summerside, PEI

May 7 – Centre 200, Sydney, NS

Alan Jackson regrets that he has to reschedule his concerts on Wednesday and Thursday of this week so he can attend the funeral service for his dear friend and mentor, country music legend George Jones.  The shows have been rescheduled, though, and will be held on Monday, May 6, Credit Union Place in Summerside, PEI and on Tuesday, May 7, Centre 200 in Sydney, NS.

Jackson and Jones’ friendship spans over 25 years.  In 1992 Jackson recorded “I Don’t Need Your Rockin’ Chair” along with Jones and several other artists; the two also recorded an acclaimed duet of Jones “A Good Day For The Roses” on Jones’ Bradley Barn Sessions album in the early ’90s. Jackson referenced Jones in one of his biggest hits, “Don’t Rock the Jukebox,” and Jones appeared in the music video for the song. Upon hearing of Jones passing last week, Jackson noted, “He will always be the greatest singer and interpreter of real country music – there’ll never be another.”  Jackson appreciates his fans understanding his need to reschedule the shows as he will pay his respects for George and his family at the memorial and funeral services Wednesday and Thursday in Nashville.
